The difference between direction and guidance can be subtle, but perhaps it simply boils down to listening and then using experience and expertise to guide the project to its best possible result.  Design iterations, reworking plans, and refining a layout can seem inefficient; in this home it was a wonderful dialogue with the client to work the project into a site-specific and owner-specific plan solving for their projected use of the home.  As the design evolved, the relationship deepened and our scope moved from architecture to interior architecture and ultimately into furnishings and interior design.  The process allowed us to reimagine what a Palmetto Bluff home could be; combining the iconic marsh setting, outdoor living spaces, simplified details, local artisans work, and interiors that highlight a new Lowcountry aesthetic.
